The NW District Exchange club is proud to introduce Harold Wood as your new district president! Harold was installed at the district’s first virtual convention on May 30th, 2021. Harold joined the Capital City Exchange Club August 2nd, 2005 and has served as club president multiple times, has sponsored ten members and serves on the board of Salem’s CAP program, Escape. Official duties began July 1st, 2020.
Involved in his community Harold has worked on numerous projects including the Marion County CAP committee, Healing Field, Patriot Day Memorial, BMW rally, Oktoberfest, Mud Madness, Great Willamette Raft Race, SOS Pumpkin Patch outing and currently manages the Capital City’s fundraising effort as the Polk County Fair, food concessionaire. Harold is known for his planning and logistics in creating menus, managing costs, scheduling volunteers and as the chief cook and bottle washer!
Harold and his wife Mickie have been happily married for 36yrs and have one daughter Audrea, (which suffers from severe Autism). As respected business owner of Harold’s Quality Auto Repair Inc. Harold has been able to give of his time and financial support in advocating for children with developmental disabilities. Harold enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, fishing and communing with God’s creations.
Harold holds enthusiasm for the future of Exchange and hopes in 2020 to work with clubs to improve everything from communication, club meetings, virtual meetings (zoom), officer guides & training, social media, growth and membership retention to name a few. Harold said that this cannot happen without the support & cooperation of the individual clubs, and asks each to reach out to him to learn more.
